I just submitted electronically my portfolio to the Board for Certification of Genealogists so I\u2019m no longer considered \u201cOn the Clock.\u201d\u00a0 My husband had made me this cute magnet when I first submitted my application:<\/p>\n

I\u2019m going to miss it!<\/p>\n
Although, at times, the workload was challenging it was do-able. The Google group for On the Clockers was helpful in clarifying requirements, offering suggestions and providing general support during a stressful time.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m most fortunate that my family was very understanding and supportive.\u00a0 They were facing their own challenges over the past year \u2013 daughter relocated back to our area and became board certified in two areas \u2013 pediatrics and internal medicine.\u00a0 She just finished an acupuncture course and should be certified in that by the end of the year.\u00a0 Son graduated with another degree and is now working as a chemical engineer.\u00a0 Hubby is writing a book besides his full time job as a counselor.\u00a0 I\u2019m proud of their accomplishments and their ability to overcome the obstacles that life threw in their paths.<\/p>\n
I also am thankful for the clients – their ancestors and mine – that I researched.\u00a0 The lives of those individuals was inspiring!\u00a0 Whenever I got stuck, be it writer’s block or due to an inaccessible record, I only needed to re-examine their documents for a gentle reminder that my situation was minor. \u00a0The past certainly put the present in perspective!<\/p>\n
I began this blog to follow my journey through the certification process.\u00a0 I\u2019ll continue until I hear \u2013 yay or nay \u2013 that I\u2019m certified.\u00a0 I\u2019m not quite sure how long that will be.\u00a0 Like the song says, \u201cThe waiting is the hardest part\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
