I think they could also be used as an icebreaker activity for a family reunion or a starting point when interviewing a relative.  Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/familysearch.org\/blog\/en\/52stories\/\">FamilySearch<\/a> for more writing ideas.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genealogyatheart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Heart-Bullet.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"19\" height=\"18\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-538\"     <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palam.org\/\">Palatines to America<\/a> had a useful handout containing a What is the Relationship? Form.  If you get confused between Great Nephews and 3rd Cousin Once Removed this handy dandy template would be helpful.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genealogyatheart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Heart-Bullet.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"19\" height=\"18\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-538\"      The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archives.gov\">National Archives<\/a>\u2019 (NARA) updated handout listed the links to their most used records.  I sometimes get lost on their site so this \u201cJust the Facts, Ma\u2019am\u201d was nice.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genealogyatheart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Heart-Bullet.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"19\" height=\"18\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-538\"      NARA also hosts <a href=\"http:\/\/historyhub.history.gov\">History Hub<\/a>, an online site with blogs, discussion boards and community pages for anyone interested in history.  That was news to me and a place I plan on checking out.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genealogyatheart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Heart-Bullet.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"19\" height=\"18\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-538\"      Did you know that the <a href=\"http:\/\/FGS.org\">Federation of Genealogical Societies<\/a> publishes a quarterly electronic magazine for only $15.00\/year?  That\u2019s just $3.00 per issue!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genealogyatheart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Heart-Bullet.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"19\" height=\"18\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-538\"      I joined the N<a href=\"http:\/\/www.newyorkfamilyhistory.org\">ew York Genealogical and Biographical Society<\/a> as I want to get back into researching some of my hubby\u2019s Long Island folks.  As a member, besides the wonderful journal, you get access to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.findmypast.com\">Findmypast<\/a> AND the New York Public Library online.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genealogyatheart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Heart-Bullet.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"19\" height=\"18\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-538\"      The <a href=\"http:\/\/usgenweb.org\/oh\">USGenWeb Project<\/a> had a laminated postcard with the 88 Ohio counties \u2013 very useful for me to track my people from Trumbull to Stark to Darke to Mercer and finally, to Van Wert.  I learned from an attendee I\u2019ve been mispronouncing my dad\u2019s birth city my whole life \u2013 Celina is pronounced Seh lie nah and not Seh lee na.  Who Knew?!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genealogyatheart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Heart-Bullet.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"19\" height=\"18\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-538\"      <a href=\"http:\/\/www.FunStuffForGenealogists.com\">Fun Stuff for Genealogists<\/a> had cute t-shirts, inexpensive jewelry, archive materials and historic map reproductions.  See their full catalog online.  I bought a tree bead and a brass tree charm.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genealogyatheart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Heart-Bullet.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"19\" height=\"18\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-538\"      The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ogs.org\">Ohio Genealogical Society<\/a> gave me a few ideas about my darling Duers who left so few records in their travels across that state.  The volunteer even consulted his own resources to see if my folks were named (they weren\u2019t but it was a valiant attempt on his part).<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.genealogyatheart.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Heart-Bullet.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"19\" height=\"18\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-538\"      Bought the just released <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ngsgenealogy.org\/cs\/mastering_genealogical_documentation\"><em>Mastering Genealogical Documentation<\/em><\/a> by Thomas Jones with the plan on working through it this summer.  You can purchase a copy through the National Genealogical Society.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m hoping to be able to attend next year, too.
